Cattle Fed In Confinement For Slaughter
The approved inclusion rate of zilpaterol hydrochloride is 6.8 grams/ton (7.5 ppm) in Type C Medicated Feed and 60-90 milligrams zilpaterol hydrochloride per head per day on a 90% dry matter basis. The amount of zilpaterol hydrochloride consumed daily by cattle fed in confinement for slaughter will depend upon the consumption rate of the Type C Medicated Feed. Zilpaterol hydrochloride consumption will range between 60 and 90 mg per head per day based on the Type C Medicated Feed consumption rates in the table below.

mixing Directions
It is recommended that Zilmax® Type A Medicated Article be diluted in a suitable carrier before addition to the final feed. A dilution of 1 part Zilmax® Type A Medicated Article and 9 parts carrier or a 0.68 g zilpaterol/Ib premix are the suggested working premixes. No Type C Medicated Feed should be manufactured with less than 6.8 grams zilpaterol hydrochloride/ton on a 90% dry matter basis. Zilmax® Type A Medicated Article and working premix addition rates for complete feeds of varying dry matter are in the following table.

Feeding Directions
Feed continuously to cattle fed in confinement for slaughter as the sole ration for the last 20 to 40 days on feed to provide 60 to 90 mg zilpaterol hydrochloride per head per day.
TYPE B FEEDS INTENDED FOR ADDITION TO DRY FEEDS FOR CONFINEMENT CATTLE
- Type B Liquid Feeds should be in a pH range of 3.8 to 7.5
- Type B Liquid Feeds should be recirculated or agitated daily and prior to use for 10 to 20 minutes
- Type B Liquid Feeds can be manufactured containing 68 to 680 g zilpaterol hydrochloride/ton
For liquid feeds stored in recirculating tank systems: Recirculate immediately prior to use for not less than 10 minutes, moving not less than 1 percent of the tank contents per minute from the bottom of the tank to the top. Recirculate daily as described even when not used.
For liquid feeds stored in mechanical, air or other agitation-type tank systems: Agitate immediately prior to use for not less than 10 minutes, creating a turbulence at the bottom of the tank that is visible at the top. Agitate daily as described even when not used.
Before feeding, the Type B Medicated Liquid Feed must be thoroughly mixed with other feed materials to make a complete feed (Type C Medicated Feed). Examples of addition rates to complete feeds are shown in the following table.
Zilpaterol Hydrochloride (g/ton) in Type B Liquid Feed
